Storytelling Festival 2005

 

January 22, 2005 - Storytellers from Hawai`i , Massachusetts and Alaska gather in Anchorage , Alaska and begin rehearsals.

 

January 23-25- Rehearsals and first presentation to High School Program on the afternoon of the 25 th

 

January 26-28- Performances for school groups at Alaska Native Heritage Center Gathering Place

 

January 29 - Storytelling Festival main performance at Alaska Native Heritage Center

 

January 30 - Travel day for performers to Barrow, Alaska

 

January 31- February 2 School performances each day

 

February 3-5 Kivgiq

 

February 6- Performers depart for Anchorage

 

February 7- Performers arrive in Hawai`i   

Afternoon rehearsals at Paliku Theater, Windward Community College

 

February 8- Performances at 9:00am and 10:30 am at Paliku Theater, Windward Community College

 

February 10- Performances at 9:00am and 10:30 am at Paliku Theater, Windward Community College

 

February 13- Bishop Museum 's Family Sunday featuring the 5 th annual Mary Kawena Pukui Storytelling Festival.

9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Storytelling/Performances throughout the day

12:00 Main performance on Hawaiian Hall stage at Bishop Museum .

 

February 14 - Storytellers travel home

 

March 14 - Travel to Massachusetts

 

March 15-18- Rehearsals and performances for school groups in the Salem area

 

March 19 - Storytelling Festival main performance at Peabody Essex Museum

 

March 20- Storytellers travel to New Bedford

 

March 21 - 23 Morning performances for school groups

 

March 23-24 Storytellers travel to Martha's Vineyard and perform for school groups and the Wampanoag Tribe

 

March 25 - Storytellers travel to Boston and back to their homes
